With hospitals scrambling to find personal protective equipment, especially face masks, a Dallas company has a technology solution. On March 29, the Federal Drug Administration rewrote rules allowing the sterilization of protective masks worn by those treating coronavirus victims.
Clean Sleep is a mobile high-tech mattress cleaning company based in Dallas Fort Worth. Clean Sleep first received national attention in the United States when they were featured in season seven of the widely popular television show, Shark Tank.
While Clean Sleep did not get a single bite from any of the sharks, they went ahead with their mission to improve the health and comfort of people everywhere by developing convenient solutions to disinfect hard-to-clean surfaces, especially bedding and mattresses.
Studies of Clean Sleep patent-pending technology has shown effective elimination of bacteria and viruses in independent laboratory tests.
Clean Sleep has successfully adapted the same process that sanitizes mattresses to the sanitation of face masks.
“Our researchers spent over five years developing the most direct, convenient way to disinfect hard-to-clean surfaces, specifically bedding and mattresses,” said Clean Sleep’s founder, Michael Ingle. “Now that we have the technology available and the science to back it up, we hope to make preventable illnesses caused by germs…a thing of the past.”
Clean Sleep Is Repurposing Patented Technology To Aid Healthcare Workers In Face Mask Shortages
Clean Sleep’s technology can help hospitals sanitize protective masks including N95 as well as surgical masks and eliminate both viruses and bacteria at a 99.99% level.
The lack of PPE like face masks have forced many hospitals and healthcare institutions to have their frontline physicians and nurses reuse their masks. Clean Sleep can help reduce the risks to both the healthcare personnel and the patient.
To sanitize facial masks the Clean Sleep process applies gaseous ozone, UVC, and infrared heat. The technology is in a mobile unit that can be brought to the hospital and can sanitize thousands of masks per day.
