The Plano Balloon Festival is a yearly tradition where guests from all over the metroplex come together to enjoy a variety of fun activities. InTouch Credit Union hosts this event as a fundraiser for participating non-profits through ticket sales, vendor sales, or food and service at the festival! You’ll be helping these great causes by attending this super fun non-profit event, so you can have a family weekend you can feel good about. Here’s a ton of great reasons to stop by The Plano Balloon Festival:
Plano Balloon Festival Activities
The weekend of the Plano Balloon Festival is basically three days of non-stop fun for locals. You can wake up bright and early and watch their 7am balloon release, or wait for the second release of the day at 6pm! The hot air balloons aren’t just for watching, though. You can actually book a ride on a hot air balloon! The balloons are tethered though, so don’t worry about floating off into the sunset. Just bring some cash and pay once you arrive at the festival, there are no reservations required.
There will also be live entertainment courtesy of our friends at KLUV and FOX, fireworks on Friday and Saturday, and a Kids Fun Zone that you cannot miss out on. The balloon festival’s yearly marathons will also take place, and this includes a 1k, 5k, or a 10k race. A skydiving show will get your adrenaline pumping each evening as a parachute team jumps off a plane and flies down into the center of the Oak Point field. Seriously, possibilities are endless!
