Celina and Marta first began selling fresh homemade tamales locally. When demand for their tamales became too high to keep up in their small kitchen, they decided to open Silva’s Mexican American Restaurant, naming the restaurant after Celina’s mother. Silva’s is one of those secret, local hot spots that will also soon be your regular favorite go-to dining spot.

It was one of my best friends who first introduced me to Silva’s Mexican American Restaurant. I was tempted by her promises of authentic, tongue-pleasing descriptions of enchiladas verdes, perfectly formed and seasoned tamales that remind me of my abuela’s handmade tamales, and of course their tacos.
One menu item you are going to want to try is the Cely’s Burger–this is a made-to-order, specialty at Silva’s and is the namesake of Celina’s mother. A lot of love goes into making this burger. The hamburger patty is seasoned with herbs and minced onions, then topped with avocado, cheese, and whatever condiments you desire. It’s neither dry, nor overcooked.
The Cely’s burger is simply perfection.
It’s the best burger I’ve tasted in a looong time, and I promise I ain’t bs-ing you.

I haven’t ordered one thing that didn’t taste homemade, authentic or just dang delicious at Silva’s. The food is made to order, always hot, and never disappointing. Just like you’d expect, this small, out-of-the-way restaurant puts all of their attention into creating fabulous dishes and a wonderful customer experience which is why we’re naming Silva’s Mexican American Restaurant the BEST Hole-in-the-Wall Restaurant in DFW You Never Tried.
A little investigative work and you’re going to find pages of great reviews for Silva’s. In fact, the Hickory Creek Police Department says: “Shout-out to whomever recommended Silva’s Mexican American Restaurant in Lake Dallas. You stated the tacos were amazing (as well as their burgers). Well guess what? You were absolutely right! They were so good, decisions were made, and one taco is missing from this picture.”
