Doesn’t matter how old I get, fireworks are always magical. In DFW, there are many public events celebrating the Fourth of July from parades to food eating contests, memorials, and performances. Fort Worth’s Fourth – Fort Worth
Fort Worth’s Fourth is the largest fireworks show in all of North Texas and is an all-day freedom fest! To make it an even more unforgettable experience, the event will feature an F-16 flyover, various food vendors, a local band competition, horseback riding, water slides, tubing, bounce houses and even a zip line! Gates open at 2 p.m. with free regular admission, parking is free, but parking is going to cost you.

Addison KaboomTown – Addison
During the day, there will be a carnival, midway games, and face painting for the kids. Addison KaboomTown is a local family favorite place to watch fireworks in the DFW metroplex. Food vendors will be on site, too; bring cash because they will not accept cards. Admission is free from 5 p.m. to midnight.

Kiwanis Club Fourth of July Fireworks Show – Denton
The Kiwanis Club’s Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show has been a Denton tradition since 1972 and is one not to be missed! Parking is $10, and entry into the stadium is free. There will be live music and activities for the kiddos. Start off your day with the Liberty 5K run or 1-mile walk and head down to the streets of the Downtown Square for the 4th of July Yankee Doodle Parade! Spend some time in Quakertown Park for family fun and make sure to end your day at the UNT Apogee Stadium for live music followed by a spectacular fireworks show!

Red White and Boom on the Bridge – Dallas
Red White and Boom on the Bridge is July 3 on the Ronald Kirk Bridge, The Felix Lozada Sr. Gateway and the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge for residents close to downtown Dallas. The event is free, with live music and food trucks starting at 6 p.m. to keep everyone entertained until it’s dark enough for the fireworks show.

Frisco Freedom Fest – Frisco
Located at the north field of Toyota Stadium, Frisco’s Freedom Fest features one of the biggest fireworks shows in the area. There will be a glow stick 5K race the evening before (July 3) and there are tons of kids activities on July 4. Foodies will love the Taste of Frisco where they can sample local restaurants fare. Admission is free and there’s even a soccer match (tickets required; get them here) as well as a Hometown Heroes exhibit—showcasing Frisco’s leading law enforcement officers and firefighters.

Fair Park Fourth – Dallas
Get a taste of the State Fair of Texas early at the Fair Park Fourth at Fair Park. All of the regular attractions at Fair Park, such as the Texas Discovery Gardens and the Children’s Aquarium, will be open to the public for their year-round admission costs. The midway and concession stands will open at noon. Midway admission is $8 at the gate or $5 at bigtex.com, and each game and ride will cost you. Starting at 6 p.m., guests will be treated to live entertainment until the fireworks show starts around 9:30. The fireworks can be seen from any vantage spot in the park, but for a seated view, the Cotton Bowl will be open. Admission is free, and parking at Fair Park gates 5 and 6 is $10.

Lone Star Park – Grand Prairie
Put your hard earned money at risk this July 4-5 at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie! Lone Star Park will have entertainment for the whole family, making this one of the only times you can lose your house payment and cheer up by jumping in a bounce house. That’s right…Celebrate America at Lone Stars and Stripes Celebration on July 4th & 5th for live racing and their expanded Family Fun Park with bounce houses, face painters, tattoo artists, pony rides, a petting zoo and much more from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. After the races conclude, stick around to enjoy a world class fireworks show choreographed to music. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 4-12, and free for children 3 and younger.

Grapevine’s July 4th Extravaganza – Grapevine
You could hang out in your above-ground pool and stare into the sun, or you could cool off in Lake Grapevine and enjoy the fireworks show. At 9:30 p.m., the city of Grapevine will kick off its 36th annual July 4 Fireworks Extravaganza. It’s free to get in and watch the show, but be advised that certain business and private docks might charge fee for access to their vantage points. All boat ramps owned by the city will be accessible, except for Sand Bass Point.

Star-Spangled Spectacular – Garland
Firewheel Town Center, in conjunction with the City of Garland, will celebrate our nation’s independence with a full afternoon of family fun during Star Spangled Spectacular from 4 – 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. Families will enjoy face-painting, bounce houses, caricature artists, balloon twisters, strolling entertainment, Food Trucks and more during Star Spangled Spectacular. 92.1 Hank FM Party Patrol will be onsite from 4 – 7 p.m. with games, prize giveaways, and even more fun. The event will culminate with a special Flag Presentation Ceremony, National Anthem performance, and patriotic fireworks display at 9:15 p.m. Firewheel Town Center retailers will join the celebration by adding great summer sales and in-store events throughout the day.

Celebrate Independence Day in McKinney! Activities for the entire family. A full day of free hometown fun! The City of McKinney celebrates the Fourth of July at Red, White and BOOM! with free family activities, live entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show. Red, White and BOOM! kicks off Independence Day with downtown events: a hometown parade at 10 a.m., a classic car, truck and cycle show and a block party right after the parade. Families can also explore the many dining and shopping options that downtown has to offer. Evening festivities resume at the McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch with music, food, kids’ activities, a concert and a fireworks display. All Red, White and BOOM! activities are free and open to the public. Red, White and BOOM! is presented by the City of McKinney and Craig Ranch.

All-American Fourth – Plano
Light up your night – and day – with Plano’s All American 4th! Join us to celebrate the USA with a day of festival and fireworks. Live music, a free kid’s zone with bounce houses and rock climbing, a food and vendor market, and a fantastic fireworks display are all part of this free, family-friendly event at Collin College. Everything kicks off at 4 p.m. and ends with a fireworks display simulcast on Radio 97.5 KLAK. Come early to get a great spot for this spectacular pyrotechnic show. It’s FREE and plenty of parking is available at Collin College and Plano Event Center. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and come celebrate Independence Day! Coolers are welcome, but please note: alcoholic beverages are not allowed.

Hey America, it’s time to paint the sky red, white and blue! The Family 4th Celebration takes place at Breckinridge Park on July 4th as they give an old fashioned annual patriotic salute to our nation’s independence, complete with an amazing fireworks show synchronized with skylites, and a visit from Uncle Sam himself. There’s also a patriotic concert performed by the Richardson Community Band and lots of activities for the family.
