This month marks the 30th anniversary of the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, and we’ll be celebrating the occasion by attending the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Gala this weekend.

This year’s annual Dallas Symphony Orchestra Gala and concert will feature Joshua Bell, world-renowned violinist. With a career spanning more than 30 years as a soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, and conductor and director, Joshua Bell is one of the most celebrated violinist of his era. Joshua believes in the power of music as a unifying cultural force.

Joshua Bell, who is also a Grammy award-winner, will be playing Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3 and Brahms’ Violin Concerto under the direction of Christian Reif. Arrive in style, take a few pictures and relish in this one-night event supporting the DSO’s community and education programs.

Afterward, dance the night away at the most popular after-party in town with live Emerald City Band, Elevation!

2019 DSO Gala Leadership

This year’s Gala Chairs are Barbara and Don Daseke. Barbara and Don’s generosity is well known throughout the community. Organizations they support include the DSO, the Dallas Museum of Art, The Arts Community Alliance, WaterTower Theater, and many others. Barbara has been a member of the Dallas Symphony Board of Governors since 2002 and she and Don were Gala Chairs in 2011.

Dallas’ original Power Couple and longtime entrepreneurs, Honorary Chairs Kathryn and Craig Hall have a personal long term commitment to philanthropy. In 1974, Kathryn co-founded the North Texas Food Bank, the largest charity in North Texas, to fight hunger throughout Dallas-Fort Worth. In 1977, Craig started the Craig and Kathryn Hall Foundation, with a mission to support and encourage the expansion of knowledge, the experience of arts and culture, and the improvement of well-being.

This year’s guest list includes some of DFW’s most celebrated individuals known for their contributions supporting community initiatives and philanthropy. A few of this year’s Gala supporters include Kara and Randall Goss, Sarah and Ross Perot, Nancy and Mike Bierman, Laree Hulshoff and Ben Fischer, Shirley and Bill McIntyre, and Lisa and Bob Segert.

Proceeds from this year’s gala provide support to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s education and community programs. These initiatives reach 270,000 North Texas residents annually, 30,000 of whom are children.
