Lysol and other experts are warning against the dangerous misuse of cleaning products after concerns arose that people might inject, drink or find other off-labels ways to kill coronavirus.

Lysol Warns People Drinking, Injecting, Other Off-Label Uses Dangerous
Lysol is warning people that using disinfectants on or in the body is dangerous. Tremendously dangerous.
“As a global leader in health and hygiene products, we must be clear that under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route),” a spokesperson for Lysol said.
“As with all products, our disinfectant and hygiene products should only be used as intended and in line with usage guidelines. Please read the label and safety information,” the statement continued, adding that the company believes it has a “responsibility in providing consumers with access to accurate, up-to-date information as advised by leading public health experts.”
The EPA is also warning people who think this might be a good idea to “Never apply the product to yourself or others. Do not ingest disinfectant products.”
Mixing Common Household Cleaners Cause Toxic Fumes
Using household cleaners on the body can cause irreparable harm including skin interactions, blindness, respiratory distress, and death.
Mixing common household cleaners can cause toxic fumes which can lead to hospitalization, nerve damage, and death.
For example, mixing bleach and ammonia will create toxic chloramine gas which even at low levels almost always irritate the eyes, throat, and nose, causes coughing and breathing problems, burning and watery eyes, and a runny nose.
Higher levels of exposure can cause chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, vomiting, the lungs filling with fluid, and death.
Bleach can be absorbed through the skin, resulting in pain, inflammation, and blistering.
It also causes burns to the skin, eyes, nose, throat, mouth, and lungs.
Bleach will also react with some oven cleaners, hydrogen peroxide, and even some insecticides.
