A Texas doctor is trying to keep his family safe from the coronavirus pandemic as he continues to work at the hospital. So, he’s taken up residence in his family’s treehouse to help prevent the spread of the virus to them. Such a novel idea!

Texas Doctor Living In Treehouse To Keep His Family Safe From Coronavirus Pandemic
Dr. Jason Barnes works in the emergency room at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi and Beeville, Texas and has treated patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.
“…Trying to think about bring that home, it’s scary for us,” he told KRIS-TV.
Many healthcare workers around the nation are taking prevenative steps to keep their families safe from coronavirus. Groups have popped up around the nation to help match healthcare workers with RVs so they can be near their family when they go home, but not potentially expose them to coronavirus.
Barnes himself was looking at all the different ways he could quarantine himself, which led him to decide to live in his 6 and 9 year old sons’ treehouse in the family backyard.
I mean, why not?
He added air conditioning, a bunk bed, a table for his laptop, a screened-in mosquito net, and even his own bathroom to make what he’s calling the “COVID-19 Quarantine Cabin.”
Now he can fight COVID-19 and still be near his family when it’s time to return home without putting his family at risk.

“As the wife of an ER Physician who is treating Covid 19 positive patients, quarantine looks a bit different for us,” his wife, Jenna, said in a video posted to YouTube. “We felt that the safest way to navigate this pandemic was to have my husband not live in the house with us. So he came up with a plan to quarantine himself… in our TREEHOUSE 😂. We are taking this situation seriously and greatly miss having Daddy in the house. However, we all need a little humor in our lives right now!”
Family time includes Barnes sitting on the porch of his treehouse while his wife and kids play in the backyard. He said he can call down to his kids when he needs something.
“We miss him terribly, being in the house, being able to hug him and be with him daily,” his wife, Jenna, said.
