What does DFW stand for?

DFW stands for Dallas Fort Worth. It is also the acronym for Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

What does Metroplex mean?

Coined in the 1970s, “Metroplex” means the total of the Dallas Fort Worth metropolitan area which encompasses 13 counties. It is the only metropolitan area in the United States that uses this word.

Is DFW bigger than Manhattan?

Yes. At 17,207 acres (6,963 hectares; 27 square miles), DFW is larger than the island of Manhattan, and is the second largest airport by land area in the United States, after Denver International Airport.

Is Dallas the same as Fort Worth?

OMG No. Dallas may have the Cowboys, but Fort Worth is where the real cowboys live and where the West begins. Also, Dallas has 1.24 million people and Fort Worth has 775,000 people. It’ll take you an hour in traffic to drive between the two North Texas cities.

Is Dallas Fort Worth a good place to live?

Offering both big-city excitement and quiet, suburban living, the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area offers an interesting mix of Texas pride and cosmopolitan offerings. The cowboy life still exists in Fort Worth, while Dallasites love the trendy local bars and numerous retail shops.

How far apart are Dallas and Fort Worth?

There are 31.05 miles from Fort Worth to Dallas in east direction and 32 miles (51.50 kilometers) by car, following the I-30 route. Fort Worth and Dallas are 33 minutes apart, if you drive non-stop. This is the fastest route from Fort Worth, TX to Dallas, TX. The halfway point is Arlington, TX.

Which Dallas airport is better?

Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport (DFW) serves as headquarters to the world’s largest carrier, American Airlines, while Dallas Love Field (DAL) is home to the world’s biggest low-cost carrier, Southwest. Dallas could arguably be considered the most important city in the U.S. aviation industry.

Can you take Uber from Dallas airport?

All Uber Services are allowed to drop off passengers at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Simply request an Uber as you normally would; input your preferred Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Terminal as your final destination.

What can I do in Dallas?

There’s lots of things to do in Dallas and Fort Worth! You can visit Thanks-Giving Square, Holocaust Museum, Perot Museum, JFK Memorial, Reunion Tower, and the Dallas Museum of Art. In Fort Worth be sure to visit Sundance Square, Fort Worth Stock Yards, Fort Worth Zoo, Kimbell Art Museum, and the Museum of Science and Nature. Many of these places are completely FREE.
