By now, you’re probably antsy to get out and do something different other than exploring your neighborhood yet one more time. Maybe you’re bored of kids stay at home activities? How you can get out and explore the world again in safe, healthy, and common sense way during a global pandemic?
Well, good news because these popular DFW destinations are reopening with new COVID-19 safety and health precautions. Here’s the list of popular waterparks, theme parks, and attractions reopening in Dallas Fort Worth soon:
List Of Waterparks, Attractions In Dallas Fort Worth Reopening Soon
Six Flags Over Texas
All Six Flags theme parks are reopening with special COVID-19 safety and health precautions in mind. Six Flags Over Texas (Arlington) and Six Flags Fiesta Texas (San Antonio) have not received a reopening date, but they are ready to open once they get the green light. Six Flags Frontier City (Oklahoma City) to the north reopens June 5.
- Park capacity is being dropped to allow for safe social distancing
- Online reservation system where you can buy tickets
- Guests will be contacted a day beforehand to ensure they are healthy before they visit
- Contactless infrared thermal imaging equipment to check temperature prior to park entry
- Face masks required, if you don’t bring one you can buy one at the park (exceptions made at local level)
- Physical distancing strictly enforced
- Distancing markers at the park’s entrance and at all rides, restrooms, retail locations, and dining lines
- Seating at park restaurants modified to allow ample room between guests
- Option for touchless, mobile ordering and transactions
- Capacity reduced on rides and attractions by empty rows or seats
- Where games are played, marker will show where onlookers can safely stand
- Employees at the park will get extensive COVID-19 training and issued PPE including a safety mask, safety glasses, and disposable gloves

Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark
Epic Waters Indoor Water Park is reopening May 29! Here are the COVID-19 safety and health measures that will be in place when you visit.
- Decreased capacity
- Arcade temporarily shut down
- Masks recommended outside of water, but not required
- Changes to layout to encourage staying 6 feet apart
- Employees will wear masks at all times
- NO MASKS are recommended while in water

Hawaiian Falls
The location in The Colony is set to reopen on June 4, while the Garland one is expected to reopen on June 5. Hawaiian Falls announced that they would be donating over 2,000 season passes to health care workers at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance and Methodist Mansfield Medical Center.
- Limited capacity to ensure visitor safety and to stay in line with Governor Abbott’s and health officials’ recommendation of 25%
- Staff will be screened for symptoms and given masks to wear
- Frequent sanitation
- Spacing of tables and chairs to respect social distancing guidelines
- Visitors encouraged to buy tickets online to minimize contact at the waterpark
- Customers are urged to make purchases at the waterpark with credit and debit cards rather than cash

NRH20 – North Richland Hills
NRH2O Family Water Park will be opening on Monday, June 15 following the guidelines for water park operations that were released by Governor Abbott’s office. Preparations for reopening will take a little bit of time to complete, but we all know NRH2O is well worth the wait! This is NRH20’s 25th anniversary season.

Gaylord Texan’s Paradise Springs Water Park includes a 6,000-square-foot family lagoon, the 600-foot long lazy river, a self-guided scavenger hunt, wellness programs, and more. Gaylord Texan Resort announced that their doors will reopen June 8.
